This desert oasis is a mecca for our vibrant gay community, with its warm climate, stunning scenery, and energetic nightlife. Whether you're looking for pool parties, music festivals, or just a good old-fashioned dance party, Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley have it all, honey. 

Here are our votes for April 2023: Top 5 Events in Gay Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley that will surely have you spilling some tea with your squirrel friends afterward… 

1. Faux Fur Ball

Date: April 1, 2023

Location: Palm Springs Air Museum

The Faux Fur Ball is an annual fundraising event benefiting the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. The event features a silent auction, raffle, live entertainment, and a fashion show featuring faux fur designs from top fashion designers. The event is a great way for our LGBTQIA+ community to help raise awareness about local animal welfare. Attendees are encouraged to wear their most fabulous faux fur outfit and enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy.

2. Sand, Stars & Guitars featuring Levi Kreis

Date: April 5, 2023

Location: Palm Springs Cultural Center

The Sand, Stars & Guitars series will feature a live performance by Grammy-winning singer and actor Levi Kreis. Levi is a Tony Award-winning actor, singer, and songwriter known for his undeniable charisma and vocal prowess. Born and raised in Oliver Springs, TN, Kreis began touring as a classical composer and songwriter by age 12. After being outed and losing opportunities with major record labels, Kreis discovered a passion for acting and landed his breakthrough role as Roger in the Broadway national tour of Rent. He went on to originate the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet, winning the 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. As a singer-songwriter, Kreis has released ten albums and his music has been featured in film and television.

3. Palm Springs 85

Date: April 8, 2023

Location: Downtown Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs 85 is celebrating the 85th anniversary of Palm Springs being Incorporated April 20, 1938. Entertainment begins at noon with DJ’s and live entertainment, ending with an Elton John tribute band in the downtown park beginning at 7pm. You can even dress your pet like your favorite Hollywood celebrity for the dog costume contest. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in art exhibits and experience the city's unique architecture and design. We think this event will also be a great way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and its rich history in Palm Springs. Don't miss out on this chance to party like it's 1938!

4. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

Date: April 14-16, 2023 and April 21-23, 2023

Location: Empire Polo Club, Indio

No list of events in Palm Springs would be complete without mentioning the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. While not exclusively an LGBTQIA+ event, the festival has always been a favorite among queer music fans. With headliners like Lizzo, Harry Styles, and Billie Eilish, this year's festival promises to be one for the books. The festival takes place over two weekends at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, just a short drive from Palm Springs.

5. Stagecoach Music Festival

Date: April 28-30, 2023

Location: Empire Polo Club, Indio

If you love country music, the Stagecoach Music Festival is the perfect event for you. This three-day extravaganza, held at the same venue as Coachella, features some of the biggest names in country music, as well as up-and-coming artists. In addition to music, there are also food and drink vendors, a BBQ competition, and line dancing lessons. With an atmosphere that's both laid-back and lively, the Stagecoach Music Festival is a must-attend event for anyone who wants to experience the best in country music and festival fun.
